9 more Days - still working the TTD list and Pain

It is getting close - but still the impending trip feels surreal -I do not feel the excitement I expected of being this close to leaving on such an adventure - I do however feel the pressure.
The TTD list grows as quickly as we can work items from it. Went to pay the car registration due in January and found a SMOG certificate was required.

Tonight Pam and I started a regime of homeopathic organic treatments. A liver/kidney flush, cherry extract and an Oil Blend.

I was in pain again this weekend knee and now my ankle -I am hoping there might be some relief here.

I made another appointment - Friday at 3:10pm with my Rheumatologist - I am afraid he might take off early and I will not see him until next year - but that was the first available appointment. I got my lab results back - it is Rheumatoid Arthritis - he does not think it is gout even though my uric acid levels are high.

One more week to get rid of this pain.

It was strange working today - I felt like I should be doing something else - but there is so much work to do. Working on the road is going to present and interesting challenge.

Well, back to the TTD list - need to update our contacts, scan the kids homework and text books, (I need to pack still) - the girls packed yesterday. Need to finish mapping out Egypt and India and work on Italy, Croatia and France Itineraries.

Day 26 - December 31st – New Years Eve and Chiang Mai

I get up and pack – some of my things are still a little damp. I apply my lesson learn and my carry-on daypack has all of my medications, our tickets, all adapters and chargers, all electronics and our India guide (our next destination). We actually are downstairs with luggage loaded and a quick bowl of cereal for the girls and I had some fruit and on the road by about 7:05am. Everyone seems tired and the last 6 days really flew by. Allysha declares that she does not want to leave on the drive to the airport. We get to the airport and Pam has to search for some change to pay the driver. We check-in and find a pub to grab some coffee and Allysha gets a full American breakfast with 2 boiled eggs – it is funny watching her trying to remove the shell and eat them. Pam gets a club sandwich and Aria gets some French fires and a mango drink. I am not feeling great in my stomach and order a cream of mushroom soup. Day 64 Zagreb, Croatia

We hang out at the train station getting our bearings and then Pam walks to look at a couple hotels. The first one (Hotel Central) changes the price as we are checking in so we got to the second one – The Astoria Best Western. We get a nice room but it seems a little pricey – 1000 Kuna. We are tired and need a place and they let us check in at 5am- we sleep till noon. I was able to get internet access which is good as I had some work to do and a conference call to join later. I am a little stressed over work and out plans for the next week. Pam wants to make it to Dubrovnik but it is a long ways away. I have some work to review, emails to send and a conference call to attend. We also need to get in touch with the house appraiser somehow. I stay in the room and work while Pam goes to try to figure out travel plans. The girls stay with me and work on school work. I am so far behind on my blogs – nearly a full week I try to catch up but the details of each day are lost to me. I need ...

Day 62 Fat Tuesday - Venice

Tuesday February 5 th . We had to stay. This is the last day of Carnivale and we actually get the room for a great price.. We slept in – I woke up feeling a little better. We visit to the Basilica, finally. It is a beautiful Church. Actually Venice is just brimming with beautiful churches. We walk to the Rialto and Pam goes to get information at the train station. The girls and I walk around the fish market and visit a few piazza's on the west side of the Rialto. We meet Pam an hour later at the Rialto Bridge and eat lunch on the Grand Canal. It is very interesting seeing people walking the streets young and old, masked and costumed.
